Immediately following my post of threshold, a family showed up at the station saying they had un regalo for us.
They were really hoping that we could care for the pelicano at the station.
When we told them we couldn't do anything for it here, that it probably had a broken neck, they seemed worried about dealing with it on their own. So, we took it down to our beach to let it die. They were relieved.
A boy joined us on the beach, fascinated by the pelican, and amazed that it was still alive.
early this morning, I walked down to the beach. I thought for sure the Pelican would have been swept away by the tide, or dead in it's spot by the log.
I came upon it breathing very slowly, laying in the high tide line with the rising sun.
