After experiencing some technical difficulties both with my camera ( much humidity in the lens) and computer (internet can be inconsistent) we are back up and running. I may be circuitous in the posts over the next few days...
Prior to leaving for Kino, I was horrified to hear that the Prescott Unified School District would not be airing the President's address to students. Due to much protesting from fearful parents using such words as socialism and tyranny...the superintendent of schools banned the airing. I must say though I was horrified, I was not surprised. I am not sure how many other school districts across the nation experienced this. Hopefully not too many.
We kicked off our homeschooling this year like the rest of the nation, with a back to school viewing via the internet of the President's Address. I must say, as much for my kids and the various levels they absorbed all of the things he spoke about, I needed the jump start as well. After being anxiety ridden about maintaining the energy and focus for these three individuals and they're exponentially different learning styles, I was motivated and proud to be in the position I am in. I hope to support their individual desires and help them to cultivate their own strengths and find ways to throw a little grammar and spelling in there too!
Hailey is reading Anne of Greene Gables and studying more and more birds! She reminds me of Uncle Mark so much.
Colter says that when he turns 5, he wants to go back to school in Kino
We shall see....
Claire: scissors and glue, she is smart and fiery and sometimes a little bit of a 2 year old...imagine that!
